Easy to Assemble
Overall I am pleased with the TV stand. It looks nice and is sturdy.1. Packaging was good, considering that there are three large pieces of glass included.2. The styrofoam bits can go all over, so I spent a good amount of time being very diligent when removing parts from box. Even so, there were loose bits of styrofoam to deal with.3. For the main assembly of the stand, the instructions were clear, the parts well labeled and it was fast and easy to assemble. I did it on my bed, so as not to scratch the glass.4. There was a small defect on one of the glass panels but it is not visible after assembly.5 The installation of the cable management panel took a long time and is still loose. This is shown in included picture (step 6). The little platic nubs kept falling out. It took a long time with so-so results. At the end, I had to use Scotch tape to secure the cable management panel.5. My 55" Sony XBR-55X850B just barely fit on the stand due to its wide stand legs. There are warnings in the product description to make you aware that this might be an issue with some TVs. From product description:SDC1250 - DimensionsFor TVs with wide feet, PLEASE measure the TV feet width and depth to assure the TV will fit on the stand! A Pedestal Style TV Base is available for sale separately.Assembled Dimensions:Width: 49.21"Depth: 16.54"Height: 19.69"Since the widest part is at the front, the my TV stand had no problems, as it fit OK. However this width tapers 11" back. This information and applicable measurements are not provided. As you can see in my pictures, the rear foot of my TV stand is just at that 11" spot right before it narrows.I tried to turn the TV stand around (back to front) and you can see that it is not much better.Very nice looking for theater decor and holds a Vizio V585-J01 easily and looks really good while doing so.I just finished putting this TV stand together and I'm very pleased. It's nice looking, the dimensions were just as expected and it was super easy to put together. My 10 year old daughter and I assembled it in less than 15 minutes (and I'm not very handy). There are only two things I'm not thrilled with. 1 - The TV sits a little low (I made a platform of hard rubber exercise mats to raise it up a couple inches to best suit our needs). 2 - After putting the TV on the stand, I've noticed a slight bend to the top glass shelf. Not a huge bend, but a slight bend that you'd obviously prefer not to see. The TV we put on the stand is a few years old ... a 55 inch screen that the manual says weighs ~75 mounds. The stand manual says the TV stand holds up to 99 pounds so this should work out long term, but I'd obviously prefer not to see any bend.I bought the model with the cable management plate but I chose not to install it ... easy to install later if we change our minds.Last note - we had to send the first shipment back because one of the glass shelves had broken into a million pieces in transit. Thankfully, amazon customer support was SUPER helpful and easy to work with. They shipped a replacement unit immediately and it arrived the next day. There were two assembly problems. One of the screw/nut assemblies to fasten the cable router would not go together, not even when held separately and attempted to hand assemble. The casting was off on one or both of them. Since the other pair were already in I went through my hardware leftovers until I found a set that worked. That added 45 minutes to assembly time. Also, when I took out the set screws, I noticed two little pieces of clear rubber or plastic that came out of the envelope. There is no mention of them or any visual of them in the instructions. Knowing that steel on glass with pressure could crack the glass, I surmised that they were inserts for the tips of the set screws to provide a pressure cushion for the screws. They should at least be pictured in the assembly instructions. I know some people who would have missed them (very small and hard to notice) and who might have cracked the two lower shelves during assembly. I had to insert the pieces into the set screw tips prior to assembly. Other than that, the stand went together well and is quite a handsome piece of furniture when completed. It holds my 55 inch TV well along with my satellite controller box and my DVD and Blu-Ray equipment and my old VCR. I would have given 5 stars if not for the assembly problems.I needed something wider than my current stand and this was the right size and looked nice in the pictures. It was easy to assemble and looks nice in real life also. The manufacturer claims it will support 99 pounds on the top shelf and 44 pounds on the lower two. I had my 55" TV on a swivel mount stand and together they weigh about 55 pounds. Unlike my previous stand, this one has thinner glass and no support underneath. As you can see in the picture, there was a visible sag in the top shelf (about 1/8" in the center) with this load. I didn't feel comfortable with this so I installed the stands that came with the TV which put the load out near the edges (see the other pic). I gave up the swivel capability but the peace of mind is worth it.Easiest thing I’ve ever put together! It looks decent and is sturdy. Perfect for small area.I bought the smoke color, and it looks all black. Really very elegant. The only issue I had with the assembly was the very last piece to keep the wires in order. I would have skipped it entirely but the metal also served to stabilize the whole piece. I had a friend helping and he knew how to do the final nut and bolt. I would buy it again regardless!Claims the top can support 99lbs but i strongly doubt it. My TV and base is about 60lbs and there is a major deflection in the glass.I will have to buy a new stand and now im stuck with this thing ...Easy to assemble. Clean , modern look. Works great for my equipment. 2 Thumbs up ??60 inch TV is a perfect fitEasy to put together! excellent qualitystand bars are bit a issue but good quality as 4 stars
